They say time flies when you're having fun which is why it's like doubling speed if you're also running a busy online company.

We're now in the second quarter of 2024, let's look back at the most exciting changes you could have missed in the endless Naruto adventure that is e-commerce.

The latest innovations and products could help to simplify your lives as well as give you the time to be more satisfied with your accomplishments throughout the year.

 What's new in

Continuously improving the product editor

Since launching our new product editor in 2023 we've continued to innovate on the experience and add support for the extensions you love. These are the most recent changes that have made it better than ever to manage and create product.

New editor, smarter interface The cover image is currently displayed alongside the name of the product for greater visual clarity as well as we've also added tags which clearly show draft as well as the hidden Product Statuses.

options to hide a product from catalog and search results

Regarding Product Add-ons In the most recent version, it's now possible to manually build orders that include custom options -- in addition to modify add-ons on current orders, and pick alternatives when items are out of inventory. We've also paved the way to provide future analytics capabilities with a tweak to how data is stored.

Cart and Checkout blocks become smaller and more user-friendly.

Performance-wise We have streamlined the way JavaScript is designed for both the Cart as well as Checkout blocks. This results in substantially smaller information load per page. The Cart block has an 11% reduction, while Checkout is reduced by 17.9% -- bringing your site up to speed with each process.

The additional checkout field have graduated from being a beta feature to the official version. The new user-friendly fields offer the ability to gather more data about a customer or their order.

Visual updates include a fresh order summary (with sticky functionality on desktop) and a clearer overview of local pickup options as well as improved design of address forms and changes to checkout steps. Additionally, we have made adjustments to the accessibility of checkout for a more enjoyable shopping experience for all.

The latest style and design innovations, as well as BNPL discovery in WooPayments

WooPay provides even greater speed and convenience

When customers hit "Proceed to checkout," they're now taken directly to the secure, fast (and already 2.5x higher-converting!) WooPay checkout. We've also added performance improvements beneath the hood, so WooPay will load faster than before.

It's also easier for WooPay customers to locate and use their favorite payment method. The brand new "Alternative payment methods" button in the Pay With section will take shoppers directly to your checkout page -- with all of the information they need to complete their purchase pre-filled with information from WooPay. Make it easier for shoppers and provide a significant speed boost to your checkout flow.

Another change that is brand-friendly one is the WooPay The Light along with the Outline button designs have been changed with a white neutral background for better compatibility with the colors of store brands.

Better views and understanding for the Order Attribution

This year we launched earlier this year, we introduced an Order Attribution view that displays the origin of your orders in order to assist you in making informed decisions regarding your time and money. In 8.9, we included an Attribution column in the Orders table as well as to the Orders report, giving you more ways to access and use your data.
