The WooThemes Updater receives an update -
Just released WooThemes Updater 1.1.0 in just under 6 months since it's first version. There are a few bugs that have been corrected and we've also added some new features in we thought you'd like to be aware of.
Update notifications will be served whether or not you have a licence key that is activated
Prior to now, you could only get update notifications if you were a licensed user on your website. The way we've done it is changed, so now as long as you have the WooThemes Updater installed you'll never miss an update notification.
The plugin is now compatible with Network installs
The plugin is now working properly. it works with every Network install. This is done by making certain that the licensing pages will only be displayed while you're in your Network Admin. From now on, you'll have to buy an Umlimited license in order to activate your license on any Network website.
What is the reason to create a plugin that can offer up-to-dates?
This is a frequent question, and pain point, for a lot of our clients. Since I've been at WooThemes we've altered how our update API operates four times. Every time we've made this modification, we've needed to modify the program that handles updates across all of our products. Given the amount of products in our catalog, which is growing each month, it's become a mammoth task. A plugin that can handle this logic for us means we only need to upgrade one plugin. Since we're now able to quickly release updates for WooThemes Updater, it ensures that you'll always have access to the latest version of our other plugins.
