The control over notifications from the Community for you and your co-members
We've changed the settings for community notification to enhance the user experience (and less email messages). Here's what's new.
What's the right way to make sure that members are aware of what's happening in your neighborhood?
It's important to let your users know about interesting discussions, and to get them engaged in more discussions However, you have to allow your members the ability to control their own experience, and restrict the number of notifications they get. Additionally, we have learned from our founders about how important it is to find this delicate equilibrium.
With the latest release of this community function, you and your members get greater control over the messages you send. It means more active discussion, no more overflowing inboxes, as well as a community platform that will bring the members of your group closer to each other.
Set your own notifications preferences when you are creator members
Community members and creators are now able to choose the notifications they'd like to receive in each category: New posts and replies to comments, or the latest responses to your comments.
If you sign in to a community as a member Log into Settings and then select "Edit" within the Notifications. (Creators will see this option in the Notifications tab within the Account's settings.)

There's a wide range of community topics you follow. It's easy to check or uncheck boxes to choose the types of alerts you'd like to receive on each topic.

For example, you might prefer to be notified of messages, comments, or responses in an area that is time-sensitive like live Events or Announcements. For other topics, you may want to be only notified every time someone publishes the article, or you can turn off notification for this topic entirely.
It is also possible to turn the notifications off or on by pressing the button "Mute All" or "Unmute the entire".
In addition, you can alter your notifications per-topic quickly by visiting within the "All topics"page or on an individual page for each subject. Choose the bell icon, after which you can set the preferences you want for notification settings.

Look over this guide for a step-by-step instructions on how to change your notification settings - and feel free to share it with members as well!
Set default notifications for a topic
Creators also have the option of setting the default notifications settings for every subject in the community. This will give you more control over how members experience.
Instead of sending notification to employees of your company for each article in the subject, it's possible to pick the subject areas that your employees are informed about as well as the types of notifications they receive.
Here's how:
In the Community tab of your dashboard, choose "All subjects". Next, select the "..." next subject you'd like editing and choose "Edit Topic". There, you can select the settings for your notifications under "Default notifications settings".

Members can alter the settings for notifications at any time in their account. If they've not changed their settings, they'll default to the settings that were put in place by the creator of every subject.

We're hoping these updates to our community will create more enjoyable experiences for the members and you. We appreciate your time!
