The artistic community of our company was polled to find out what they're up to by using AI. We found out.

These questions, that are typically about fear of the robot Lords or an absence of imagination and cultural awareness - or both - are legitimate. But, in spite of these fears AI is already making its way into the workflows of the people across the world and has shown no sign of ever slowing down. How can it be applied to creativity and the people who are involved in it?

Any professional in the field of creative thinking will inform you that the human component that allows us to express emotion, imagination, important art is not accessible to machines. They are also not able to think up or generate ideas without human input. It's placed, by necessity, as instruments as opposed to complete replacements. In nearly every conversation, we discovered that people we spoke to loved using AI to keep free of monotonous, 24/7 creative pressures. It allows them to be shifted to the things that matter most to them.

Multimedia producer Romke Hoogwaerts relies on AI for efficiency no matter what the work. "I use AI to automatize my general tasks," says Romke. "I've utilized it for making business email, sending quotations to customers, etc. AI will always be most capable of doing the bulk lifting for easy tasks."

Chris Carboni, too, utilizes AI to make sure that his inbox is clean and that his work is in the right order. "I am a huge fan of using AI for improving my email and for the purpose of acting as my personal assistant who is proficient in responding to questions or disseminating complex concepts as well as handling the most difficult jobs."

   AI is defined as a computer program, but not a new technology.  

As we discussed the various discussion topics and we noticed the similarities among creative professionals regarding the use of AI to help improve and increase productivity the quality of work, not substitute for it. "I'm trying to see the issue as something greater than "They're taking my job and I'm about to lose my job'" says Jordan. "It's more like an "Ok but what do I do now? What can I do to deal with this today?'"

Rachel Hulin, for example has utilized AI to replicate the look of a camera with technology that has been lost until the present: "One of my favorite cameras is no longer available however, I'm able to use AI to reproduce the analog aesthetic."

Jordan Clarke, who works in the field of animator and director, made use of AI to get more comfortable with the writing process. "I've always wanted to write," he says. "So I thought like"well, when I write using AI, I can utilize the AI as a tool to increase my creative thinking."

Many creators want to learn more about the new technology on the market. AI is now an opportunity to grow into fields that would otherwise be impossible - more than just replacing or duplicate processes.

"There are two reasons for employing this technique," Paul adds. "For majority of people, it's actually making things that were never believed to be feasible in the past. It opens the door into a world that were impossible to imagine." Some, AI is simply offering the opportunity to artists tell their tales, stories that they've wanted to tell all along.
