May 8, 2024

Jo Kelly isn't your average acting instructor.

She doesn't use the phrase "teacher" even once "I don't do anything other than providing instructions to people regarding how to conduct themselves" she states. "I aid people with not being a nuisance."

Through experiences that are embodied, Jo coaches mainly actors as well as artists of any kind in addition to non artist "seekers" on ways to find their an inner sense of freedom and discover their true self. This way, actors will stop acting, and can begin being themselves and become. "I prefer thinking of myself more as an acupuncturist than a coach because I aid people to return to their authentic self, and become refreshed," she explains.

She believes the success of an actor lies in their happiness and dedication to their character. "When your character is protected fully both the story and public are also impacted" she says.

With her distinctive style of coaching performers, she assists them in tapping to their imaginations as children, fascination and fun. What is this? They provide genuine, live, and authentic shows.

In the year 2016, Jo transitioned from in-person coaching to an online-based business . Since that time, she's led three consecutive experiences and served over 8,000 people. The group has had amazing outcomes since they joined Jo and also have obtained jobs with the most prestigious studios like Netflix, HBO, Disney, Showtime, ABC Studios along with many more.

This is how she created an online business in which she's passionate:

She conducted her own investigation

Jo chose a different path towards becoming an actor.

Born in Belgium Her birthplace was in Belgium. She completed her MBA after which she specialized in human resource management and psychosystemic psychology. Following that, she was employed in corporate coaching. "The corporate environment never felt identical to the one I was accustomed to." she shares. "I chose to quit everything and move to Paris to begin anew. ."

One of the main reasons for her fresh start was to try her hand in acting. She was awed by. She was determined, committed and devoted all of her effort and effort into acquiring abilities to become the best actor she could become.

Despite her commitment to her profession, her mother says she was a decent actor but not the most outstanding actress. As with many actors, she suffered from stage fright. "Most of my acting colleagues suffered from similar issues," she says. "We were all so passionate, but when it came time to play the role the part, we were terrified. ."

The actress was interested to find out what factors stopped her and many other actors from becoming great actors. "My fascination has turned into an obsession" she said. "I am interested in understanding why actors who are dedicated and dedicated are less active when they play ."

In the span of a few years, she investigated the reasons why actors feel stuck. Through her studies, she came to the realization that when children play, they're at liberty. When adults engage in play, it's like they're losing their independence due to the social norms. "When I realized this, I spent the rest of my time working with actors in helping them overcome perceptions of themselves so that they could show up and be themselves in the same way that they used to be," explains Jo.

She started as a coach

Jo's experiences-based research led her to study various techniques to heal the body that she later tried on others through private and group sessions of coaching in the early part of 2000. After a few years, she named her business To Be Or Not To Act.

She soon realized the students she taught lacked dedication. "No matter how dedicated my students were, they weren't able to maintain their commitment to attending throughout the day. Even though we had meetings three times a week however there was no obligation for breaks. There was a tendency for someone to lose the ball easily even if they were not with me." explains Jo.

It was hoped that online classes can help students stay consistent with their practices. The instructor describes the online classes as "journeys," and the initial journey that she guides participants on will be The Reset: From Resistance to Freedom. It was created by her in 2014. "I set out to develop The Reset so that I could be able to hold hands with others during The 33 days that comprise The Reset," she says in her explanation.
"Since the site is online, users can access it on their own time and decide on their own timetable."

Jo is of the opinion that humans possess a natural instinct However, the societal conditioning forces us to act as we think, feel, and act the way we think, feel and act. According to Jo that the goal of The Reset is to encourage people to take part in exercises every day that allow them to shed the habitual and return to their instinctual nature. Everyday in The Reset, Jo offers videos of exercises. Furthermore, she gives two Q&As as well as 2 hours of work in groups via pods and a second semi-Q&A in which Jo addresses frequently asked questions on an exclusive group of Facebook.

Having the flexibility of an online adventure lets Jo's participants take part in the activities at any time at any time, whether they wake up before they fall asleep, or whenever they have some time. "The best part is that you can tailor them for your daily schedules," she explains.

Her online business was founded with the ability to lead a life style

When Jo first began her website Reset journey it was possible for her to record every session published on her website. Then, a couple of years later she changed her website to Reset after she was urged to join the site by her coach. "You guys know how to go, but I do not" she says with a smile.

After moving to the coaching arena online, Jo's routine has changed. At the time of our interview Jo called us from the hospital, in the hospital, where she was spending her time with her daughter. "Eight years ago, my child was diagnosed with genetic specification that requires treatment at the hospital every month," she explains.

" It allows me to be a mother and take care of my own family, all while keeping my online company that is operating when I am in hospital, as my daughter gets her monthly transfusions," she continues. "Working online enables me to take care of my daughter in the way that I would like and be at home 24/7 to take care of her. I can travel for hospital demands, but be in the midst of a profession I'm enthusiastic about and not having a stress-inducing ."

The subsequent trips were her personal creations.

After completing The Reset, they have the option of enrolling in A three-month program named The Aimful Actor. The program offers a daily 3 hour session over 12 weeks. "The participants in this program are more independent with regards to accountability and being their own needs. There are still some things that they must do each day but they can't count on me to accomplish it. They have to think of their own motivation, which is why they are here." Jo says.

Jo will also be hosting Q&A sessions through the process of becoming a Purposeful actor, which will take place every one week for three weeks. Once you have finished this Purposeful Journey you may decide to sign up for the full year long membership, known as BAMF Actors In Action, that is short for Bad-Ass Mom of F***king Actors In Action. "I made this membership to help people who had finished the two journeys wanted to practice on this path," she says.

It has been operating for four years. The program offers a content-based session a month, group sessions with weekly pods, monthly Q&A session with Jo the host along with the opportunity to attend a six-hour summit every three months. "The Membership helps members determine the best way to get out into the world and be that person who they are meant to be, get connected to industry experts, create the content they want to write, and increase the bar on their instrument," she explains.

She has worked with musicians from all walks of life.

As per Jo she thinks that the vast majority of the clients she has on her journeys include actors. But, there are other types of artists, like writers, dancers and musicians, along with regular people who "want to be able to move their bodies" including mothers as well as professional artists such as pro athletes, TV hosts, and therapists. "Freedom is an issue for everyone who wishes to fully express themselves," she says.

Because the tours are conducted in English and also in English it draws people from all over the world. "We have visitors from every continent, but mostly America, Europe, and Australia," she shares.

A majority of her listeners are in the 20- to 50 age range. Some of her audience members are who are entering the third decade of life, and it's common for her to welcoming people aged 70 or 80 to join her on her adventures.

Her clients did all the talking

Marketing her journeys, Jo says the word is spread mostly through words of mouth of.

The homepage of her website, she's included an interactive testimonial reel. This provides proof of the social standing of her site and lends credibility to her efforts. Users of her site are able to sign-up for the newsletter she sends out on her site. In order to collect email addresses, she gives two free workshops to draw leads, such as Do not try to be a good Actor to Give Yourself the Chance of Being Excellent and The Instinctive Actor. These trainings not only help to capture the details of her viewers and provide them with a glimpse of the how she coaches.

Also, she posts to her Instagram page--which has over 10,500 followers. It also receives news coverage via interviews for numerous podcasts, blogs and magazines.

The client chose a cost which is reasonable.

Jo tries to make her travels available to all, especially because actors earn a fluctuating salary. "If you attended an acting school once per week, the cost would be about $300-$400. In the majority of cases, you'll sit down and observe other students performing the scenes, and at times you'll get an opportunity to perform," she adds.

"These internet-based travel services are a much cheaper alternative," continues Jo. "The worth of our trips are 10x what we sell our journeys at." ."

The Reset is priced below $1000 USD. The price for Purposeful Actor is $1250 USD. The cost of membership is $270 USD a month.

She was at the zenith of the greatest genius

Even though she is the company's chief executive officer To Be Or Not To Act, Jo is firm in her determination to devote her time in her area of excellence that is coaching and making the videos. Jo does not have a tech background and prefers to remain "in and out of the loop" performing her best work. "The rest of the tasks to run an enterprise, I'm not interested in because this isn't my realm of genius," she says.

Jo credits her success at the beginning to a coach who she employed early. In the end, when it came time to develop permanent experiences Jo did the right thing by purchasing a program that cost $20k, in order to master the art of executing it. "It was quite a stretch that required me to take on a loan of half the money. It's a good thing I was able to make it happen,"" she says.

She's convinced that anybody can build an online company that is prosperous. She advises, however, that it'sn't easy.

"It takes dedication and persistence It's also important to have a passion for what you're trying to accomplish. As for me it's all I've ever been doing when I changed careers when I was in my 20s and that's what I'll do for the rest of my life. The passion for what I do makes it so that, even and it becomes difficult I stick with it ."

She created from the heart

She suggests online entrepreneurs be honest about the difficult work they'll have to put into creating an online enterprise. She recommends that they only take on the task when the topic they're teaching they're passionate about.

"The problem is now that once you sign up to social media, everyone is an expert and claims that you can make millions within a matter of minutes. But that's just not true," says Jo. "It is a fact that you will be able to make money if there is something you are passionate about and you want to make it available to the world's largest audience than that of your neighbors. It's not easy, however. and it takes falling and getting up. It involves training and investing time and money until your foundation is established ."

Like Jo When you create an organization from the inside It gives you the courage to persevere despite difficult times.

"An online business shouldn't be just a job opportunity to make profits. It must be born from your core--from your purpose. If you don't do this, you'll drop the ball as it's going to feel too heavy." She explains.

"If you're doing this for legitimate reasons, you'll be able to overcome the challenges. If you're looking in search of a quick cash grab and you're not able to take on these challenges. It is suggested that you focus on the things that are dear to you. It is essential to be successful at your job because you're facing an intense level of competitors. It is essential to remain confident in what you're doing. ."

Her integrity was protected by her art

When asked what we will witness in 2024, Jo thinks there is going plenty of online programs. She says that the main differentiator between the "McDonald's" programs and the "gourmet" programs is the courses that have been designed by a professional with integrity.

"When you have an overabundance of something, it will result in two kinds of online work. There'll be McDonald's style courses and then there'll be efficient and delicious classes. There will be goals to attain something completely opposite to your current life However, this won't come from a reliable source. And then there will be those who have been going at it for a long time," she says.

To create a gourmet style of course she suggests you get back to the fundamentals.

"There is incredible potential to any person with a solid and a heartfelt desire to do something for others," she continues. "The people who will need what you have to offer are likely to be the ones you ."

"I'm grateful for this opportunity, which allows us to connect as humans for what matters to us. It's incredible."
