Developers of games and apps might be interested in latest information about Apple making preparations to conform to EU's Digital Markets Act.
With the European Union's Digital Markets Act continuing to expand, Apple may be making changes to the App Store's policies in order to guarantee conformity with the most recent law.
TechCrunch has recently revealed that the Form 10-K of Apple's 2023 application has a revised version of the risks and could point at "a more definitive stance on the possibility of modifications to App Store's policies."
Apple states that it will influence how it handles distribution of its app beyond the App Store, the amount they will be charging for utilization of its platform by developers, and also how they are able to communicate with buyers "regarding other options to purchase."
The Digital Markets Act is "the legislation of the EU to make the market in the digital world more equitable and more contestable."
In particular, it targets at platforms with large scales that the Commission believes are " gatekeepers," who have purposes which include a business environment which is fair to the business community, more and more efficient services for customers to select from, and much more.
