Motion Graphics - The CreativeMindClass Blog
What's your history?
"My name is Sylvia Boomer Yang. I'm an illustrator animator and GIF artist based in Brooklyn, New York. For my professional work I design motion graphics, animated illustrations and storyboards for explainers, video series and apps. What I like to do in my spare time is make fun and quirky animated graphics and stickers that can make anyone smile and encourage them to be themselves."

"I grew up in Taiwan and began attending high school for fine art in my early years. I was always drawn to drawing but slowly I got stuck in a strict education style. I felt like I was unable to express my personal style and personality using the conventional methods of art. Learning about fine art has certainly helped me establish the basis for who I am now."

"I went into design college in my college before moving into New York for grad school. This was when I started experimenting using animations and digital art. Animation provided me with the capability to mix animation and motion to convey a message in a dynamic way. I really enjoyed exploring how to transform still images into motion."

What is the style of your animations?
"I frequently find myself expressing my personality through colorful, fun and quirky designs. My belief is that smiling is an excellent way of evaluating successful work. "

What is the key to making your animated images?
"I love to work with the sense of humor and strong emotions that help people feel connected, playing with different mediums as well as creating an original style of design. Designing can be really fun!"

"Collaboration/teamwork is one of the keys I evaluate a lot. I enjoy how people spark ideas together in the group, and I believe that good work typically is made by a collection that has different strengths and skill sets.
The day-to-day life of I wouldn't stop creating items that inspire me. When not designing or making motion graphics, I could be seen making a messy mess around the house (lots cook!) as well as making craft projects. I often travel to Brooklyn farmers markets and experiment with various ingredients at home. There is a world full of wonderful things. I love exploring different cultures, new communities, and innovative artwork."
