Creative thinking runs through the family for the illustrator and artist Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, too an artist, was an influential influence in his work, even when she was not entirely happy with his career moves. "First she was not a fan of me making it a full-time professional. I believe she understood that it was difficult due to her experiences. However, I decided to give it a try and fortunately was able to make it through," Kentaro says. "She is certainly the greatest motivation for me."

Kentaro grew up in an unassuming fishing town in Toyama, Japan, but relocated to Australia at age 18, and is now a resident of Sydney. Since then, he's built a successful part-time, freelance job as an artist. He sells prints, custom painting murals and surfboards, and collaborating with major brands and musicians.
