Many kids have their first entrepreneurial ventures through selling snacks to neighbors, Morgan Hipworth took his early interest in food to the next level. The young and naive founder of the cult Australian bakery Bistro Morgan, developed an appreciation for food by watching cooking shows at about seven years old.

"I observed other kids on TV working towards their goals and I realized, "If they're capable of it, I could do it,'" Morgan says. Then he put his faith into action "Each weekend, I would make three-course meals for my parents and family and serve my food in my family's dining room," he says. "I expanded my clients to extended families, offering freshly baked sweet treats to celebrate birthdays or other events." At age 13 I was asked to bring samples to an eatery in the area. He was also responsible for its supply of bakery goods and desserts.

Include your customers in the brand's story

"Being in a position to be able to share the story of your business and bring customers along for the ride has been a fundamental part of building a customer base," he says. "Connection is the first importance, and it's what turns a one-off client into a loyal one that will stay with you throughout the years."
