When Jeremy Cohen was 15 and a half, he took a family vacation at Yellowstone National Park unexpectedly sparked his passion for photography.
"My father brought me a tiny digital camera that he used to point and shoot," Jeremy shared with . "My sister began taking pictures with it and I thought they looked really amazing, so I decided to give it a go. I shot a number of nature photos, which inspired me to take a film photography class at my high school , as an elective after I arrived back home."
That early curiosity to capture his surroundings was the foundation for his career as a professional photographer. From the Quarantine Roof Culture collection to his everyday Portrait project Today I Photographed, Jeremy went on to make use of his camera to "uplift and amplify untold depictions of humanity." People took notice: Jeremy has built an audience of over a million followers on social media--and has been able scale a successful freelance photography career.
Turning to freelance using the help of a website
This strategy worked: "I started to get employed for a few small jobs as I gradually progressed to finally work full-time as a photographer freelance."
"I have multiple uses for my website ," Jeremy says. "It's my main website for visitors to look through the absolute best of the best of my work, whether it's personal projects, client work, or miscellaneous images."
The creation of a website is also a way in establishing the credibility of freelancers. "In my experience," Jeremy says, "a solid website is imperative to a photographer for clients to take them seriously."
