Fantasy illustration - The CreativeMindClass Blog
What would you say about your personal style?
It's somewhere between stylized and realistic fantasy illustration. I use a lot of colors that are muted and watery and prefer to use organic, flowing shapes. I believe that my "style" as an illustration artist is heavily dictated by my color palette as well as the subjects I actually choose to paint but not always what it's painted. I previously worked with a more linear style but I've recently been transitioning into a looser and more expressive style.

What is the key in creating your artworks of fantasy?
I'm constantly re-examining them until the image is closest to how I envision the image in my mind (within the reason that I don't want to be able to spend months working on one painting). I try really hard to challenge my ideas to the limit and never settle for a mediocre image. I'd rather spend a lot of time to get the fantasy illustration right than rush through the process.

Where can people see the fantasy drawings you've created?
I'll be part of the coming "Oceans and Currents" exhibit on display at Gallery Nucleus on July 1st! In the meantime you can follow me via Instagram. Prints are available for sale on my store online Bandcamp if anyone would be curious!
Additionally, I'm on YouTube as well as Bandcamp for those interested in my music since I'll release more tracks very soon.

Her Background
I earned my diploma at my school, the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I am currently employed in the entertainment art industry as a concept artist and illustrator. Also, I have a ongoing artistic project, known as Pearl Farm, for which I make drawings. I also write as well as sing my own songs.
The illustrations for the article come from my personal project, Pearl Farm. This is my story that I wrote that follows a travel singer called Vinny and her pet Ray Hubble while they travel their way across a globe known as the Lofty Coastline.
