Fantasy illustration The CreativeMindClass Blog
How would you describe the style you prefer?
It's somewhere between stylized as well as real-life fantasy illustrations. I tend to use muted and aquatic color palettes and prefer to use natural, fluid shapes. I think my "style" as an illustration artist is heavily dictated by the colors I use and what subject matter I choose to draw, and not necessarily the way it is painted. I previously worked using a much more straight-line approach, however I've been transitioning into a looser and more painterly style.

What are the most important factors to making your artworks of fantasy?
Sweating over them until it looks closest to the way I see the image in my mind (within reason, otherwise I'd devote months to a single painting). It's my goal to push my shapes to create a mediocre image. I'd rather spend a lot of time trying to get my perfect fantasy image than rush through it.

Where can people see your fantasy illustrations?
I'll be participating in the coming "Oceans and Currents" show at Gallery Nucleus in July! For now I'm through Instagram. I do sell prints through my store Bandcamp for those who are interested!
Also, I have a YouTube as well as Bandcamp for those interested in the music I'm releasing since I'll release more tracks very soon.

The Background of Brigitte
I earned my diploma at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I am currently employed in the field of entertainment art as conceptual artist and illustrator. Also, I have a ongoing creative project called Pearl Farm, for which I make illustrations. I also write as well as perform original songs.
The article illustrations are from my personal project, Pearl Farm. The story is my own, it follows a traveling singer called Vinny along with her pet ray Hubble as they make their way through a vast globe known as"the Lofty Coastline.
