When I have time I love to complete 30-minute-hour research or other explorations in which I do what I feel like that day. It really helped me improve but it also allowed me to discover which things I enjoyed.

These days I really like to focus on lighting, color and also how to describe textures in a simple way so that I don't need to be too detailed in all of it. I usually maintain my designs as close as possible to what I see in real life However, as time goes on, I'm hoping to push shapes more and be more stylized with my work.
When I start a painting, generally speaking, I like laying out the basic shapes first either in BW, or simply straight using colors. If I feel it's necessary to start by drawing lines first. When I've got a solid base I like to map on the light and shadows on layers. It is not until that point do I paint or render it generally moving from large to the smallest of particulars.

To create the Streets of London painting I employed a similar method. In order to have clear edges and to keep the painting well-organized, I employed a large number of layers. I also put the main light layer on an additional layer.
The layers make me less worried about making mistakes. But once I feel comfortable in the state of the painting I start to combine a couple of elements, but only keeping what I feel is important.

Colors to me are much a "feel" aspect, and I simply go with those that feel right. I also have different references that I look at for help in choosing the correct colours. Sometimes I combine references, and at sometimes I just use the same.
It's certainly a smart idea to learn about colour and light theory, so you know what you can push to make the overall colour palette and values more pronounced.

I think it's difficult to pinpoint what the most important thing I do to create my work... I like to experiment with diverse styles, techniques, as well as subject matter and be inspired by others artists.
I'm only a few months into my art journey and continue to try to determine what I'm like as an artist, and my personal style. One of the main differences in my life is that I don't really worry about it as much I did in the past and I think that's making an enormous difference.
My Background
My name is Bjork as I'm Visual artist. I'm currently employed as a Concept artist for games.

I'm from a small country called The Faroe Islands and have always had a creative streak in some manner, be it via drawing, storytelling, or drawing. I received a bachelor's degree in CG arts from The Animation workshop in Viborg, Denmark, in 2019 I started my first full-time job in London in the following year.
Nowadays, I'm mainly working as a concept artist at Envar Studios but also do occasional freelance gigs.
It's true that I'm generally more active on Twitter as compared to the Instagram platform. If anyone would like to buy prints I'm selling prints on Instagram.
