The process of connecting to your authentic self. The essence of what a person is.

Angela Maria Sierra, a Spaniard-born artist, depicts her true her own emotions and the feelings she's feeling. The result is in the form of figures with rich emotional lives that are full of compassion to ease and pleasure.

She is known to the art world as Riso Chan, who is photographer and art teacher currently living at The Netherlands. The artist is about to begin her creative journey through videos as well as her own creative YouTube channel! It's something that she was wishing to do for a long time. With courage and determination, she fought through the discomfort of talking to the camera, she uploaded the video that was fun to watch about her, her work, and her creative surroundings.

Artist Vlog - Riso Chan

Riso Chan talks about accepting her sensitive true self through her art work:

My work is extremely emotionally charged. I work on portraits which depict the emotions I am feeling. I have always been a sensitive and sensitive person. From the time I was a kid I've had a feeling that made me feel uneasy and I attempted to put it down. (...) As you mature, you realise that actually everything is fine and everybody feels differently. I decided to make use of all of the emotion I carry into my daily day life to begin painting. I use it to fuel my imagination and spark the imagination of others. It's amazing that what I've been trying to push down for all of my life, all of a sudden I was able to put it on piece of paper and felt like such a relief. There is finally the possibility to utilize this feeling, and I can utilize these feelings, pains, and joys and put them on paper. This was a truly amazing experience and brought me to a state that was filled with gratitude. It began to resonate with lot of people too. I began to open the door and writing things down on paper that I have never considered prior to. In lieu of trying to be like other artists who previously "made it" I was really listening to what I wanted to convey and who I am as an individual. I accepted something I did not like about myself , and then realized it is actually my superpower. I'm really content being my authentic, sensitive self.
