Can you elaborate on what you do in the first place ?
In our Community Team, we are responsible for our oversight of the Hero Community and other community focused initiatives as well as sources. Our goal is to connect our clients across the world and help our Heroes to be successful entrepreneurs with community programs and tools.
What is a professional accomplishment you're particularly proud of?
How has your cultural identity impacted your journey working in tech?
It's something I'm trying to learn more about my own self.
Are you a part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and if so what do they mean to you?
It's not really AAPI Heritage Month, but when I was growing up, I attended and took part in Korean celebrations of culture and heritage which would include festivals and various other events. I think like many others I've learned how important these types of celebrations and events of the culture can be in understanding the concept of one's identity and sense of belonging.
Do you have a story to share about an event or person in AAPI past that was meaningful to you?
The most meaningful would have to be my parents, as well as the countless immigrant families that uprooted themselves in search of better opportunities elsewhere. It's a bit mind-blowing to consider the types of challenges faced by the earlier generations of the AAPI community. In addition, I would like to affirm that I'll never forget what an adventure Linsanity was...so shout-out for Jeremy Lin!
How do you get involved within the AAPI group?
I generally seek community in my workplaces in which I am spending the majority of my time. Therefore, in my college years I took part heavily in KSA (the Korean Students Association) as well as at other jobs I've taken part in various AAPI specific ERGs.
What are you most excited doing at work ?
My most favorite thing about working with is the team and people which I get to work with. I am extremely grateful for the warm and supportive atmosphere that's been created, and the passion that exists about our products as well as our clients is truly inspiring to be part of.
