Mayumi Yoshida has been in the limelight because of her films, but when she heard about her path her own, she discovered her own filmmaking just by chance. "I first began my acting career in the role of an actor" states Mayumi. "There weren't many chances to play one of the roles, and a lack of roles that I truly was a believer in and believed in at the most fundamental levels. They gave me the feeling that 'Oh, this's me!.'" So, when an opportunity came up to raise money to create a short film, Mayumi was the first to take on the challenge to take part in the film and not only acting, and also in the role of director for the film, which is a story about her personal life.

"That is what has brought about an variety of film festivals" Mayumi says. Mayumi. "It led me to feel"Oh I have so many things to be doing in the realm of storytelling and as an artist instead of acting as a mere actor." Since the time, Mayumi has continued to improve her filmmaking skills as well as collaborating with musician Amanda Sum on artful music videos that defy expectation and test the limits of the medium.

"The most beneficial advice I've received from other person aside from me came from someone who advised me to be accountable for my capabilities," says Mayumi. The key is to be confident enough to defend the things she believes in regardless of doubts about herself. "Don't be afraid from saying"no" to anybody other than you," she adds. "You could be thinking"But the system is not working. Oh, but I won't get in. It's impossible for me to gain entry.' The company has not been informed to this effect until today. The authorities have been informed. Therefore, let it be up to them. Take the shot, however it will not work. The majority of the time it's a win. out."
