5 reasons to join our New Slack Community: Global SaaS leaders -
The version that is TL;DR of this article is this:
- We just launched a newly-created (free!) Slack community: Global SaaS Leaders.
- It's open to leaders at established SaaS and software businesses (including founders! ).
We're starting a new free Slack group
Because communities are awesome!
No, seriously.
There are many additional SaaS and software community out there. Many of them are great.
When we began to think about developing the kind of community that we'dlike to be a part of, we saw the opportunity to make something completely new.
To that end, we came up with Global SaaS Leaders as a space with five unique qualities:
1. Global Focus
We found many SaaS and software communities which were U.S.-based or that were based on a particular location.
Global SaaS Leaders will be distinct. They may reside within the U.S., but our clients and the larger SaaS community are spread all over the world.
As we grow the community, we'll become conscious of establishing a broad members and an international perspective.
2. Designed for leaders from established SaaS and software firms
Some of the best software chats we came across on the web were around starting an entirely new SaaS business:

Discussions like this are beneficial for those who are trying to build the foundation of a SaaS.
We observed that it is extremely difficult to find useful discussions between the leaders of well-established software and SaaS firms.
This is why we've decided to create a community for SaaS leaders thinking about growing and scaling an existing software company instead of building the minimum viable products or getting seed stage funding.
If you're a lifestyle business owner with a self-funded SaaS already doing $10,000 a month, we want to connect you with other entrepreneurs similar to you.
Similar to if you're the developer leader at a venture-backed start-up which just crossed the threshold of $10 million a year.
This is the goal we will pursue on the upcoming Global SaaS Leaders: to make a place where you can talk about the unique challenges that happen once you have reached the point of product-market-fit and start to expand.
3. Professionally moderated
It requires a committed and talented moderator (or group of moderators!) to build a positive, supportive culture in a community.
There's a lot we've learned by observing the Reddit community, r/entrepreneur for example.
Yet even the most reputable communities such as this one sometimes struggle with concentration. The number. 1 thread this year is a combative post about the way that cryptocurrency is consuming the stream:

Katie Stephan and Nathan Collier (authors of this post!) will be the first moderators in the launch of our Global SaaS Leaders community.
We have spent more than an entire decade of moderating online communities with hundreds of members.
Furthermore, building and launching this community is part of our jobs descriptions.
The conversation will remain focused on SaaS and other software and we'll make sure there's no need to deal with unsolicited emails, spam and personal attacks. trolling in any form.
4. It is not solely focused on funding or venture capital rounds.
No matter what your situation is, we don't care. financially strapped, venture-funded, private equity backed, or any other ownership structure.
Global SaaS Leaders won't be a event that is primarily focused on exit or funding strategies.
In addition, we want to create a place that you can engage in discussions regarding hiring, revenue profits, tools, pricing models, technical infrastructure and everything else related to growing a successful software business.
It's fine if members occasionally talk about the topic of funding. However, it shouldn't be the sole discussion.
5. The most supportive SaaS Software community online
Some online communities are unsafe areas.
Whatever you're looking for, where you're from and what you're from, we want you to feel comfortable posting and engaging in our online community.
Katie and I will do all we can to create a supportive, positive society in this brand new one. Also, we will not tolerate personal attacks, bigotry, sexual discrimination, racism or other unwelcome conduct.
Our goal is nothing anything less than to create the most supportive SaaS and software community on the web.
